The Henry Ford Weddings
If you're looking for a wedding venue in Michigan that your guests will genuinely remember, The Henry Ford in Dearborn is hard to beat. We've photographed and filmed weddings throughout The Henry Ford campus, including the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation, Greenfield Village, Lovett Hall, and the historic Ford estates.
We've photographed and filmed about six weddings at The Henry Ford so far, along with engagement sessions at the estates and throughout the Museum and Village. And there's a reason we keep coming back: there is almost nowhere else in Michigan with this much variety packed into one wedding destination.
You can have your wedding surrounded by American history inside the museum, step into an 1800s village at Greenfield Village, celebrate in the elegant architecture of Lovett Hall, or take portraits among the historic homes and gardens of the Ford estates.
For a wedding photographer or videographer, it's almost ridiculous how many possibilities there are.

Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation
We've photographed and filmed weddings inside the Henry Ford Museum, and it is unlike almost any other wedding venue we've worked at.
The architecture alone gives you an enormous number of possibilities for wedding photography. The grand hallways, enormous chandeliers, historic displays, dramatic staircases and beautiful interior spaces give you completely different looks without ever leaving the building.
One of our favorite areas is the Blue Room and its grand staircase, but there are great options throughout the museum. The Anderson Theater provides an especially memorable setting for a wedding ceremony, while the museum itself gives your guests the opportunity to explore one of Michigan's most recognizable cultural attractions during the celebration.
And that's part of what makes a wedding here so different.
Your guests aren't simply sitting in a ballroom waiting for the next part of the evening. They're surrounded by some of the most fascinating pieces of American history imaginable. The museum is an experience in itself.
There is one thing we'd recommend keeping in mind, though: give your guests some structure. If everyone is free to disappear into the museum whenever they want, the dance floor can thin out pretty quickly. Give them an allotted time to explore, however, and it becomes a really fun part of the wedding experience.
For photography and videography, the possibilities are almost endless. Between the architecture, exhibits and dedicated event spaces, we can create portraits that look completely different from the typical Michigan wedding venue.

Greenfield Village Weddings
If the Henry Ford Museum is impressive, Greenfield Village is something else entirely.
We've photographed and filmed a wedding at Greenfield Village, and the entire village becomes part of the experience. You're not simply getting married at a building with a nice lawn. You're stepping into an entire historic village filled with homes, businesses, churches, gardens, streets, trees and architecture inspired by another era.
And for wedding photography, that means you have an entire village to explore.
One of the coolest parts for us is the historic transportation. Wedding parties can be escorted through the Village by horse-drawn carriage, which isn't something you get to say about very many wedding venues.
The photography possibilities change constantly as you move through the Village. Historic buildings create architectural portraits, tree-lined paths give you softer natural settings, gardens add color and texture, and the village streets provide a completely different look from traditional wedding portraits.
And the best part is that the Village isn't just a backdrop.
It is part of the wedding itself.
Ceremonies can take place in the historic Martha-Mary Chapel, followed by a reception at Eagle Tavern, an 1800s-inspired setting that gives your guests an experience they simply won't get at a traditional wedding venue.
From a photography and videography standpoint, Eagle Tavern can be challenging because of its historic environment and limited modern lighting. But honestly, that's also what makes it so interesting. You're documenting a wedding inside a setting designed to feel like another time period.
Greenfield Village can even be a fantastic option for a winter wedding. The indoor ceremony and reception options mean you don't have to depend entirely on warm weather, and the Village covered in snow can make for some incredible imagery.
Lovett Hall Wedding Photography & Videography
We've filmed several weddings at Lovett Hall, and while our experience there has primarily been on the video side, we've seen firsthand why it's considered one of the signature event spaces at The Henry Ford.
Lovett Hall has a completely different personality from the Museum and Greenfield Village.
Where the Museum is grand and educational and Greenfield Village is historic and immersive, Lovett Hall is elegant, architectural and timeless.
The ballroom features soaring ceilings, polished teak floors, enormous windows, a balcony and beautiful crystal chandeliers. The grand staircase and marble lobby provide additional portrait opportunities, while the library and garden areas add even more variety.
For wedding photography and videography, this is the kind of space where you don't have to manufacture a dramatic backdrop. It's already there.
The architecture does the work.
And because we've already filmed multiple weddings at Lovett Hall, we're familiar with the space and know how to work within it when the wedding day gets moving.
The Ford Estates
The Henry Ford also offers something completely different from the Museum, Village and Lovett Hall: the historic Ford estates.
We've photographed and filmed engagement sessions and wedding-day photography and videography at the estates, and they are a photographer's dream.
The Henry and Clara Ford Estate and the Edsel and Eleanor Ford Estate each provide their own combination of historic architecture, landscaped grounds and gardens.
This is where we really like to let the day dictate the photography.
There isn't one single "best spot" that we always use, because the best location can change dramatically depending on the season, the time of day, the foliage and the direction of the sunlight. A garden that looks completely different in June might be unrecognizable in October, and a location that works beautifully in the afternoon might be completely different at sunset.
That's part of the fun.
We'll look at what's actually happening with the light and the surroundings on your wedding day and find the places that look best that day, rather than forcing every couple into the same handful of poses and locations.
The estates are especially beautiful for couples who want their wedding photography to feel historic, elegant and natural without looking like they're standing in a generic wedding venue.
Why Get Married at The Henry Ford?
We've photographed a lot of Michigan weddings, and there simply aren't many places that can compete with The Henry Ford for sheer variety.
Think about what you're getting:
A museum.
An entire historic village.
A historic ballroom.
Historic homes and estates.
Gardens and enormous outdoor spaces.
Architecture that spans completely different eras and styles.
And all of it is in one location in Dearborn.
That's what makes a wedding at The Henry Ford so memorable. Your guests aren't going to walk away thinking, "That was a nice ballroom."
They're going to remember where they were.
They'll remember walking through a museum during a wedding. They'll remember seeing a historic village. They'll remember riding through Greenfield Village. They'll remember the architecture, the exhibits, the estates and the setting.
Every wedding is unique, but The Henry Ford gives you a setting that is unlike almost any other wedding venue in Michigan.
Engagement Photos at The Henry Ford
This is one of our favorite things about being The Henry Ford wedding photographers.
We've been Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village members for nearly 20 years.
Because of that, we're extremely familiar with the campus, the Village and the estates. We've also been able to bring some of our couples to The Henry Ford for engagement sessions.
In fact, we can take our wedding couples to The Henry Ford for their engagement photos at no additional admission cost to them.
We've done this several times, and it's a fantastic way to get photographs that don't look like typical engagement photos.
Instead of spending an hour walking around the same park, we can explore the historic architecture, gardens and surroundings at The Henry Ford and create a session that feels completely different from your wedding day.
It's also a great way for us to work together before the wedding. You get comfortable in front of our cameras, we get to know you as a couple, and we can start figuring out what kinds of photographs feel the most like you.
Our Experience at The Henry Ford
We're not just photographers and videographers who have shown up at The Henry Ford once, taken a few pictures and called ourselves experienced.
We've worked throughout the campus, photographed engagement sessions there, filmed multiple weddings at Lovett Hall, photographed and filmed weddings at the Museum and Greenfield Village, and worked at the Ford estates.
We've also been visiting The Henry Ford and Greenfield Village as members for nearly two decades.
So when you hire Bearded Wolf Productions for your Henry Ford wedding photography or videography, you're getting a team that already knows the environment, understands how much there is to work with, and knows that the best photographs aren't always found in the obvious places.
We'll take advantage of the architecture, the grounds, the gardens, the historic settings and whatever the light happens to be doing on your wedding day.
Because at a place like The Henry Ford, there's no reason for your wedding photos to look like everyone else's.
