Do you offer both wedding photography and videography?
Yes! We offer professional wedding photography and wedding videography both together and separately. Whether you need photography, videography, or complete photo and video coverage, we have options to fit the way you want to remember your wedding day.
What is included in your wedding photography packages?
Our wedding photography packages vary, but most include full-day wedding photography coverage, typically beginning with the finishing touches of hair and makeup and continuing through approximately the first hour of open dancing.
After your wedding, your fully edited images are delivered in your own private online gallery. Your photos are available to view, share, and download with just a click.
What is included in your wedding videography packages?
Our wedding videography packages vary, but most include full-day video coverage, from the beginning of your wedding preparations through the major events and into the reception.
Depending on your package, you'll receive three unique wedding films: a highlight film, a main-events film, and an archive film containing your extended wedding footage. We also include an engagement film with our applicable packages.
Do you offer engagement photography sessions?
Yes! Engagement photography sessions are available as part of select wedding photography and photography + videography packages. They're also a great opportunity for us to get comfortable working together before the wedding day.
How many photographers and videographers will be at our wedding?
Typically, James and Erica handle the photography and videography together throughout the wedding day. Depending on the needs of your wedding and the package you've selected, a third photographer or videographer may also join us.
How many hours of wedding photography and videography do we need?
For most weddings, we recommend 8 hours of coverage. This gives us enough time to capture the important parts of your day without everything feeling rushed.
Some timelines may require more than 8 hours, and that's perfectly okay. We can add time as needed. A typical day for us starts when hair and makeup is doing finishing touches. The day usually ends for us when the reception formalities are complete, and we've had about an hour of open dance.
How far in advance should we book our wedding photographer and videographer?
For Michigan weddings, we recommend booking 18 to 24 months in advance, especially if you have a specific wedding date in mind.
Our calendar tends to fill up quickly once a date gets within a year, and popular dates can book even earlier.
How do we reserve our wedding date?
Start by filling out our contact form and setting up a discovery call with us. Once you've decided we're the right fit, we'll send over your contract and invoice.
Your wedding date is officially reserved once we receive your 20% retainer.
Do you travel for weddings outside of Detroit?
Yes! We photograph and film weddings throughout Michigan and are happy to travel wherever your wedding takes us.
For weddings requiring more than approximately 2.5 hours of driving time from Wyandotte, Michigan, a $400 travel fee applies. We'll be sure to make hotel arrangements to arrive the night before.
What areas in Michigan do you photograph and film weddings?
Pretty much everywhere! We've photographed and filmed weddings all over Michigan in all kinds of locations, including Detroit, Metro Detroit, Lansing, Grand Rapids, Holland, Frankenmuth, Clarkston, Bay City, in settings such as beaches, forests, farms, private estates, historic venues, country clubs, and more.
If you're getting married somewhere in Michigan, just ask. There's a good chance we've been there, and if we haven't, we'd love to see it.
What happens if it rains on our wedding day?
We dance in the rain!
Michigan weather doesn't always cooperate with wedding plans, but a little rain doesn't stop us from creating great photos and video. Our cameras are protected with specially designed rain covers and umbrellas when needed, allowing us to continue working through light rain while keeping our equipment protected.
And sometimes, rainy wedding photos end up being some of our favorites.
Can you help us create our wedding timeline?
Absolutely. In fact, we encourage it.
Because we're with you for so much of your wedding day, we can help build a timeline that gives you enough time for photography and videography without making the day feel like one long photo shoot.
We'll work with you and your other vendors to create a realistic timeline that keeps things moving while still leaving room to enjoy your wedding.
What happens if you become sick or are unable to photograph or film our wedding?
We have assistants and other trusted photographers and videographers who can step in if James or Erica is unexpectedly unable to attend.
If both James and Erica are unable to photograph or film your wedding, we will provide a full refund and help you find a qualified replacement so you're not left scrambling on your wedding day.
How and when will we receive our wedding photos and videos?
Our typical turnaround time is approximately 60 days.
During the slower wedding season, delivery can be closer to 30 days. During peak wedding season, please allow up to 120 days for your completed photos and films.
Your finished work is delivered digitally through your private online gallery.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes! We want booking your wedding photography and videography to be manageable, so we typically divide the total cost into five equal payments spread evenly between booking and your wedding date.
Your initial 20% payment reserves your date, with the remaining payments spread throughout the time leading up to your wedding.
Can we meet with you before booking?
Absolutely. We love meeting our couples before they book.
We typically start with a discovery call, usually through FaceTime or Zoom. It's a chance for us to hear about your wedding, talk through what you're looking for, answer your questions, and get acquainted before you make a decision.
We want you to feel comfortable with the people who will be spending so much of your wedding day with you.
