Rochester Hills Banquet Center is a clean, elegant wedding venue in Rochester Hills, Michigan, with a spacious ballroom, beautiful chandeliers, and one feature we especially love as photographers and videographers: a skylight stretching across the length of the ballroom. That natural light makes a huge difference, giving the reception space a bright, polished look during the day while still allowing the chandeliers and reception lighting to shine later in the evening.
We’ve photographed and filmed two weddings at Rochester Hills Banquet Center, one in 2023 and another in 2025, including Nicole and Christian’s 2023 wedding, where we also photographed and filmed the ceremony at the venue.

Rochester Hills Banquet Center may not have dozens of different photo locations scattered throughout the property, but we’ve found that there is plenty to work with. The ballroom, hallways, front entrance, and landscaping around the building can all provide something different, especially when we take advantage of the available light and change our perspective.
Inside, the chandeliers and clean architectural details give the images an elegant, classic feel. The long skylight is particularly useful because it brings natural light into the ballroom and across the dance floor, creating a beautiful environment for photographs during the reception and throughout the day.
Outside, there is a small path surrounded by evergreen trees and large boulders near the front of the building. It may not be a massive outdoor property, but it gives us another completely different look. The area is especially beautiful around sunset, when the sun falls into the trees and creates warm backlight for portraits.
That combination means we can create a surprising amount of variety without needing to leave the venue.

The same things that make Rochester Hills Banquet Center enjoyable for photography also work well for wedding films. The spacious ballroom gives us room to move during the ceremony and reception, while the skylight provides beautiful natural light and a bright, clean atmosphere.
The chandeliers become an especially nice visual element once the reception gets underway, while the outdoor landscaping and sunset light give us an opportunity to step outside for cinematic portraits with a completely different look.
For couples who want an elegant wedding film without having to travel between multiple locations, the venue gives us plenty of visual material to work with.
A Spacious Reception Layout
One thing we particularly appreciate as wedding photographers and videographers is the way the reception space is arranged. Rochester Hills Banquet Center has a separate area for cocktail hour, allowing the ballroom to remain empty while guests are elsewhere.
That gives us the opportunity to photograph and film the reception space before it fills with guests. We can capture the room, tables, centerpieces, chandeliers, and overall design exactly as the couple envisioned it, without having to work around a crowded dance floor.
The ballroom itself is spacious, which also gives us room to move throughout the reception and capture the action from different angles.

We’ve had great experiences working with the staff at Rochester Hills Banquet Center. They have always been welcoming and easy to work with, which makes a big difference on a wedding day.
Our 2023 wedding with Nicole and Christian is one that particularly stands out. Their ceremony was held at the venue, followed by the reception, giving us the chance to experience the space as both a ceremony and reception location.
After two photo and video weddings here, we’ve found that Rochester Hills Banquet Center is a venue where we can get a lot out of what is available. There may not be an enormous number of separate photo locations around the property, but the combination of the ballroom, hallways, front landscaping, evergreen trees, large boulders, chandeliers, and sunset light gives us plenty of opportunities to create a varied wedding gallery and film.
